The negotiation has been carried out for several days, but the member countries of the European Union (EU) have agreed on all its institutions, the Parliament and the Council of the European Union; the proposal made by the European Development Commission, which is going to put the digital green certificate was quickly launched in June, although some member countries showed some resistance to be able to maintain restrictions in some countries.

The reason for the name

This health document that has been called health passport will have the health information of individuals traveling by air transport, both people who are vaccinated against COVID-19 or those who have had the disease, and also includes those people who present a negative test upon arrival at destination. This was reported by the EC commissioner, Didier Reynders through his Twitter 7account. Green pass

People who belong to the European Union will be able to access this pass if they have any of the three elements mentioned above. According to the report, European travelers and tourists who already have only one dose of the vaccines that they need two to be fully immunized will be able to request said pass to move around the old continent and thus reactivate tourism, which is one of the most popular areas hit by the pandemic.

One of the clarifications made in the said report refers to vaccines. The list of vaccines was given which are approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). These are Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). Similarly, it should be mentioned that vaccines such as Sputnik V from Russia or Sinovac of Chinese origin, are still under study to be approved and added to the list.

Likewise, European citizens living in other continents will access the same green certificate if they present proof of any of the requirements. That way, they will move between EU countries without restrictions. For his part, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, will visit the Turespaña stand in Fitur in the capital of Spain these days, where he will present the Digital Green Certificate with the objective and need to reactivate a sector that has been badly hit by the pandemic.

Subsidized Covid Testing

The agreement that was given within the European Union contemplates the subsidy of the Covid-19 tests. For this, they have allocated a budget of 100 million euros, with the possibility of adding 100 million to ensure that the tests are affordable for all citizens of the continent. If an EU Member State considers that the health situation is not the best within the country, it has 48 hours to notify and thus be able to be treated within the European Commission if they should take measures on this matter.

What do you think of the measures to reactivate tourism in the old continent?
