Elon Musk’s aerospace exploration and development company has long communicated its intention to enter the telecommunications business by making use of its technology and infrastructure to establish a satellite network around the world; SpaceX now offers its service on the market, and within its target audience it has “in its sights” the various airlines around the world.

Space X, a company dedicated to meeting needs

From the beginning of the “Starlink” project, SpaceX stated that the intention of the project was to bring telecommunications to every corner of the planet and at a considerable connection speed. To achieve this, it had to put a large network of satellites into orbit, which, up to date Today it already exceeds 1,800 units, in this way the company assures that its main objective is to cover the current need to satisfy the social demand for high-speed communication.

Every corner of the planet includes airplanes over 10,000 meters high

SpaceX sanded a statement that has generated a “stir” in the commercial aviation environment since Musk’s company has made known its intentions to provide internet on commercial flights of airlines that wish to contract its services, that is this is part of the “Starlink” policies since the objective of providing internet connection throughout the world does not exclude airplanes, on the other hand, this initiative would solve one of the inconveniences of air transport, the lack of internet connectivity during the flight path.

For its part, the offices of “Starlink” have communicated: «We have our own aviation product in development … we have already done some demonstrations to date, and we hope we will complete this product to be put on airplanes in a very near future ». Therefore, it can be concluded that the project is ready to be commercialized.

The wait will be short

Regarding a specific date for the telecommunications product in the “Starlink” aircraft, the company has limited itself to saying that it will be “sooner rather than later”, so there is no exact date, but we can count that for the “Starlink” project this service will be launched on the market in the short term, at the moment the “Starlink” internet is in a “beta phase” in different countries of the world, with an approximate cost of $99 per month.

What is your opinion on this topic? How fast do you think this internet modality is launched from Starlink?
