Aeronautics offers a diversity of solutions that have applications in various fields of human interest. The security and defense of countries are one of the fields of interest where aeronautics has intervened with relevance over the last 100 years. Within the defense areas, reconnaissance and espionage operations have an important place, in which aerial technology is constantly improving, possibly for many, aviation-related to military operations implies a rejection of the little humanistic warlike aspect that this entails; however, on the other side of the coin, progress in aeronautical defense technology has also supported to safeguard the lives of civilians in conflict zones.

Israel, a country in constant development

The country of Israel has gone through a permanent situation of armed conflicts; this has led it to develop technical and technological knowledge around this situation that constantly threatens the security of its citizens in the Middle East. The country of Israel stands out for its constant development of weapons, among which is aeronautical research.

The new spy

Last April, Israel presented its new Oron intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft that it received last Sunday at its Nevatim base. Oron will allow Israel to maintain a tactical superiority in the face of constant threats to security that are manifested in the region. Israel has expressed its satisfaction with the recently acquired aeronautical technology, as it represents a great effort in protecting its citizens.

Oron will become part of Israel’s tactical war fleet, which has about 750 operational aircraft ready to go into action if required. Within the fleet are some aircraft such as the F-15 and F16 fighters and tactical combat helicopters such as the Boeing AH-64 Apache.

Meeting Oron

Oron is equipped with state-of-the-art sensors, including an advanced radar system and artificial intelligence; it should be noted that the entire Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) system Oron, has been developed by the Defense Research and Development Directorate (DDR & D) of the Israel Ministry of Defense, the Israel Air Force and the naval arm of the Intelligence Unit of the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).

Oron’s artificial intelligence has several automated data systems working together in coordination with various algorithms and a centralized artificial intelligence; in terms of performance, the platform is similar to that of the Gulfstream G550 business jet.

What do you think of this topic? Do you think aeronautics is a great support for the security of each country?
