Next, we share an interview with Angel Lovera (BCDA’s CEO) by Eng. Luis Santiago Garcia Merino (Peru):

Can you share with us some lessons from your experience in military aviation and as a civilian pilot?

I was a combat pilot, one of the things that I learned as a military pilot is that no matter how hard you think things are, you can always do them. Notice that in the promotions the pilots of the world are only a small percentage of combat pilots, for example, from a promotion of 100 officers only the first 5 become combat pilots; then I learned that things, no matter how difficult they seem, can be achieved.

How did you get started?

I started to undertake as soon as I saw several needs in the commercial aviation field. After retiring from the military aviation and entering the private/commercial aviation, I began to see how there are small deficiencies in the airports, as you know the technology is available to everyone and now a cell phone is a small computer, I realized little by little that the technology could be used in a better way, At that time I was the captain of an airplane and I traveled to different countries and I spent a lot of time with the paperwork and logbooks that I had to fill out, as the person responsible for the flight one has to deal with quite a few processes that could be simplified, because of this I thought of a possible solution to that problem and that is why I am starting to work in this area, we made our first appearance in the United States in November of that year 2016, we made a Web and Mobile application to manage aeronautical departments, I digitized all the flight logs, I digitized all the paperwork, that was the first idea I had as an entrepreneur, help the captains to digitize all the documents, we exhibited it at a convention in Orlando 2016 and thus began our innovation project and then it mutated to be a platform to manage fees, radio aids, overflights, a whole series of things that is already a compendium of many things that is JET MAN PAY.

What is BCDA?

We created the company BCDA in 2016, we started creating small applications, we made our first appearance in the United States in November of that year, we made a Web and Mobile application to manage aeronautical departments, all flight logs and all paperwork were digitized.

Nowadays BCDA is a company of management and development of aeronautical software, we began to support small airlines and small private operators that came to us and we took care of their invoicing and their services, being like intermediaries to such a point that we made a complete digital platform and we developed to the airport of Maiquetía (Venezuela) a digital platform, Maiquetía airport has one of the most advanced systems in Latin America that we have put in place, and already all the international airlines that operate in Venezuela are our clients and use our service. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing how you undertake a project from nothing and everything is transformed from an idea to something useful, that people are better and more professional using our technology.
