As a result of the Covid-19, the American Airlines airline reduced a large percentage of its commercial flights, due to the fact that since the restriction of free entry decreed by the different governments, they could not make trips to all destinations, in addition to the fact that many people were complying with quarantine to avoid contagion.

Currently, some countries have commented that the spread of the virus has been controlled and gradually people will be able to resume their activities, for airlines, there are various modifications that must be made, in addition to strictly adhering to the new security protocols, which could be such as those mentioned in our previous article entitled Social distancing during commercial flights.

Restart of operations

A few days ago American Airlines announced that it will be resuming its operations towards different destinations that were allowed by the decrees announced by the governments, in fact, in their system, they already have programming, sales and reservations of the places that have already started activities (or that are about to start), they comment that as the situation progresses they will continue to regularize their service in order to overcome this decline that occurred due to Covid19 and reduce the impact caused by the restrictions.

New dates

American Airlines is currently considered as the main airline in the American continent due to the frequency of trips it makes and the capacity it offers between countries such as the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, among others, which is why the importance of restarting its activities and destinations, however, it has been shown that in said restart there is a variation in its routes, currently they have already begun to resume their routes in the United States.

Countries they will not reach yet

In their communication they have announced that the operations that were carried out between Buenos Aires-Los Angeles, Sao Paulo-Los Angeles and Miami-Brasilia will no longer be provided due to the low level of demand they have had, they have also communicated that routes to other destinations will be resumed once governments allow entry.

They comment that the schedules will be (Are) available from (Since)  July 5, destinations such as Miami-Santiago and Miami-Sao Paulo will have priority and can be made between August 5 and 6, also, they hope that by December of this year the route they were taking between Ezeiza-Dallas, Lima-Dallas and Sao Paulo-Dallas it is regularized, along with Sao Paulo-New York and Miami-Rio de Janeiro, but at the end of the year.

On the other hand, some flights will only be resumed the next year 2021, as they have mentioned for the route that covers Dallas to Santiago de Chile, where they consider that it could be in June 2021, while the route between New York and Rio de Janeiro appears with programming for December 2021.
